Sugar.fit raises another $5 mn in Series A

Sugar. Fit, a health tech company specializing in type 2 diabetes and prediabetes, has secured an additional $5 million in its Series A funding round, led by B Capital, with contributions from MassMutual Ventures and existing investors.

Previously, in October of the preceding year, the startup had garnered $11 million in its Series A funding, spearheaded by MassMutual Ventures.

This infusion of capital is earmarked for enhancing sugar production. Fit’s technological infrastructure and product portfolio are bolstering brand visibility and expediting research and development efforts in diabetes management, as per the company’s press release.

Madan Somasundaram founded Sugar. Fit is a comprehensive diabetes care program that integrates advanced technology with personalized human interventions. Through continuous glucose monitors, fitness trackers, and health diagnostics, diabetes specialists and nutritionists monitor users’ real-time glucose levels, analyzing the impact of their lifestyles.

Over the past 18 months, the brand boasts substantial growth in its paid subscriber base, exceeding 30,000 users.

Furthermore, Sugar. Fit has established an omnichannel presence, initially in Bengaluru, and has since expanded to operate seven diabetes clinics staffed with diabetes care physicians throughout the city.
